Students in Ms. Lovick's classes were able to write the rhythm to the proverb: Find a penny, pick it up.  All the day you'll have good luck."  Then, working alone or with a partner, students created a Do,Re, Mi melody to go with the rhythm.  Students then sang their melody for Ms. Way-J.  They did a fabulous job and had a good time! Most students even wrote more than one melody!

Mr. Kruger's Composers!

Mr. Kruger's class wrote short songs in music class Thursday.  We figured out the rhythm to the proverb: Find a penny, pick it up.  All day long you'll have good luck.  Students then took that rhythm and created a 3 note melody to it.  Here are some of the results:

 
 
 

 Ms. Barth's 3rd grade class wrote their own songs this morning!  We started with the proverb:  Find a penny, pick it up.   All the day you'll have good luck.  We figured out the rhythm of the words as a class.  Then students created a mi, re, do melody to go with the words and rhythm.
